Hatcher Stubbs' 2007 Georgia Super Lawyers
Hatcher Stubbs lawyers have again been selected by their colleagues and peers in the profession as 2007 Georgia Super Lawyers. This honor recognizes these partners' professional achievement and places them among the top 5% of attorneys in Georgia and the elite in their practice areas. Hatcher Stubbs lawyers have consistently been included in the Super Lawyers Listing, and this year boasts more than any other firm in the region and the only firm in Columbus to have multiple lawyers listed in the same practice area. Georgia’s Super Lawyers is a comprehensive and diverse listing of Georgia's preeminent attorneys as chosen by their peers and through the independent research of Law & Politics magazine. More than 23,000 lawyers representing over 60 practice areas were surveyed across the state to determine the "2007 Georgia Super Lawyers." Atlanta magazine and Georgia Super Lawyers publish the list annually in March.
Hatcher Stubbs Hosts UGA Law School Dean
Dean Rebecca H. White, of the University of Georgia School of Law, recently visited Hatcher Stubbs to report on the school's activities, accomplishments and successes during the past year. Hatcher Stubbs' long-standing relationship with the law school is evident in its continued support of and interaction with the school and its faculty. Over half of the Firms' lawyers are graduates of Georgia Law, and two graduates of the Class of 2007 will join the Firm this fall. Class of 1985 alumnus Alan Rothschild was recently appointed to the University of Georgia School of Law Alumni Association Council.
Hatcher Stubbs Welcomes New Partners Jorge Vega and Elizabeth Cook
A Harvard Law School graduate, Jorge Vega became the first assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas. He has extensive litigation experience in both Texas and Washington. In addition to his litigation practice, Jorge handled a variety of municipal matters as the Planning Director for the City of Bellingham, Washington for three years. Jorge has been a participant in several local forums on various constitutional law topics. He joins the litigation and administrative law practice groups.
A native of Columbus, Elizabeth Cook spent 22 years practicing in Atlanta at the firm of Elrod & Thompson before returning to Columbus and joining Hatcher Stubbs. Elizabeth represents clients in all aspects of employee benefits plans and related funding arrangements. Her practice encompasses a wide range of tax-related matters, and she also lectures on employee benefit issues and tax law changes on the local and regional levels. |
