Law Students
Each summer we hire a select group of first- and second-year law students to participate in our summer associate program. Our program is comparatively and deliberately small, conducted with a view toward our anticipated hiring needs. The program is designed to give summer associates a sense of the daily experiences of our lawyers, both in and out of the office. We hire students to work both full and half-summer positions. Summer associates are not assigned to a particular practice area but are encouraged to take assignments from various areas of our Firm’s practice.
We look for a record of strong academic performance, superior writing ability, and a commitment to the development of legal skills. Because we give our summer associates significant levels of responsibility and client contact, we not only look for superior credentials, but also for maturity, strong “people skills,” and judgment.

Compensation & Benefits
We regularly review and update our compensation package to ensure that it is competitive for similar communities and law firms. In addition to our standard compensation package, associates receive health, disability, and life insurance. They also have the opportunity to participate in the Firm’s 401(k) after a specified period of service. As part of its commitment to the development of our attorneys’ legal skills, the Firm provides a generous annual stipend to attorneys for attending continuing legal education classes. This stipend is also available for client development needs, various professional memberships and civic organization dues.
