Attorney Profiles: Marjorie M. Smith
Mollie Smith was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2002 and to the Alabama State Bar in 2003. She received her B.A. degree in political science, with a minor in French, from Davidson College in 1998 and her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2002. While at the University of Georgia, Mollie's student note, "Hitler's Ghosts: The Interplay Between International Organizations and their Member States in Response to the Rise of Neo-Nazism in Society and Government" was published in the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law. Additionally, she served as Executive Editor of the Georgia Journal in 2002.
Mollie concentrates her practice in the areas of estate planning and administration, offering estate and tax planning advice for individuals and representing fiduciaries and beneficiaries in estate and trust administration. She also participates in the Firm's estate and trust litigation practice. Mollie's practice also involves corporate and business transactions and general tax issues.
A native of Columbus, Mollie takes great interest in community affairs and divides her time outside of the firm in professional associations and volunteer efforts. In addition to assisting with various ministries at her Church, Mollie participates in community-wide efforts as a member of the Junior League of Columbus and The Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce's Young Professionals Program.
