Attorney Profiles: Carter P. Schondelmayer
Carter Schondelmayer has practiced in litigation primarily focused on employment law since she joined the firm in 1998. She serves as the Chair of the Firm’s Employment Practice Group. She works closely with corporate and governmental clients to assist in employee issues and to defend lawsuits. She has experience with trial and appellate work, as well as the investigative processes of the Georgia Department of Labor, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Office of Civil Rights. She has been a guest speaker locally on topics such as avoiding employment discrimination claims. Carter also provides litigation assistance to the Trust and Estates Group of the Firm for contested probate or guardianship matters. She is licensed to practice in both Georgia and Alabama. She has been recognized by the Georgia Super Lawyers, Rising Stars in 2006 and 2007.
Carter is a native of Columbus and received both her B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Georgia. While at the University of Georgia, she served as the President of the Student Bar Association, a member of the Women Lawyers’ Association, a finalist in the J. Melvin England Mock Trial Competition and a participant in the London Law Consortium. She was also recognized in Who’s Who of American Law Students.
